Purpose: Agriculture, Environment, Sustainable Development
Aim/Objective/Mission: Centre for Resource Education is
a non-governmental organisation working o environment
and development issues in India. It has been at the forefront
of developing initiatives to develop solutions to problems
of urban environment and industrial pollution at sectoral
and individual levels. Considering the ground realities
and challenges ahead, a group of committed people coming
from different walks of life established ‘CRE’
with an aim to sensitise the society and enable recognition
of the ‘value of resources’. CRE makes an
attempt to stress and promote this concept on the issues
relating to environment and development. It focuses on
effective ‘institutional mechanisms’ needed
for achieving ‘Sustainable Development’. In
all its endeavours, CRE makes an attempt to stress on
four key principles - Environment, Efficiency, Economy
and Equity as fundamental pillars of ‘Sustainable
Development’. This can be achieved through effective
participation of all concerned stakeholders in the society. |
