Aim/Objective/Mission: This organisation was founded in
1978, formalised and registered as a non-profit making
organisation under the West Bengal Societies Registration
Act XXVI of 1961. IPWS thinks that development should
come from the below i.e. people’s participation
and capacitating are to be achieved to route their way
to development which is not devoid of social justice.
In short, development is not one-dimensional phenomenon.
It is inseparable with social justice, human rights and
value-based environment friendly style of living. IPWS
long involvement in the movement for justice, inter-faith
harmony and lasting peace secures its recognition by the
UNESCO as a centre for Human Rights and Peace Research
Study Training Centre. Its study and research mainly centres
around women prisoners of West Bengal, which also funded
by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government
of India. Its other research topic area includes Human
Rights, Tribal Rights, Peace Research, Communal Harmony
which includes conflict resolutions amongst the inter
faith conflicting communities. |
