Purpose: Human Rights
Aim/Objective/Mission: New Entity for Social Action –
NESA is a Bangalore-based voluntary organisation, working
to ensure life with dignity among Dalit, Adivasi and other
vulnerable communities, through a unique network of 42
development organisations and networks. At present, we
serve a population of 5.5 million living in 6,600 villages
in South India. Our focus is on the restoration of rights
through response to injustices, restoration of livelihoods
and the nurturing of leaders. We deal therefore with several
issues, including the restoration and management of natural
resources, micro-finance and HIV/ AIDS awareness and intervention.
Emerging from this work is a people’s movement (in
formation) to secure rights, known as Nyaya Sangamam. |
