Aim/Objective/Mission: A high density of population of
Razabazar and Garden Reach area having urban dis-organisation,
relative over all Agnation in terms of per capita income,
sub-culture of urban scenario. In this situation a group
of young people imbued with social consciousness, working
at the local grass root level banded themselves together
to form a team of social workers in order to devote their
time and energy in eradicating the obstacle to the development
of human resource, social malaise, economic exploitation
and irregularity in different spheres of life. The movement
was launched in 1997 under the banner of READS. Reads
is an organisation of people from socio-economically-weaker
section in the society. The main thrust of READS work
is to organise urban and rural communities of the poor
to enhance their conditions through participating methods |
