Purpose: Grants/Aids, Health
Aim/Objective/Mission: UNAIDS is the co-sponsored programme
of 6 UN agencies (UNICEF, UNDP, UNFPA, UNESCO, WHO &
the WORLD BANK). In India, ILO, UNIFEM AND UNDCP, are
also included. Agencies work together through a UN theme
group on HIV/AIDS. UNAIDS provides support to strategic
planning at the national & state level and to the
development of technical resource groups. UNAIDS supports
efforts to build technical and programme partnerships
with multilateral and bilateral organisations and international
NGO's interested to work with India's national response
to HIV/AIDS, and supports resource mobilization efforts.
UNAIDS provides regional and global level programme support
to India through its co-sponors and the UNAIDS GENEVA
secretariat. |
